The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland will continue to offer livestreamed Masses from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Cleveland every day except Saturday.
However, the schedule will change effective May 25, when churches are permitted to begin the public celebration of Masses after a more than two-month suspension of public liturgies due to the coronavirus health crisis. Strict safety precautions are in place at the cathedral to ensure the safety of the clergy and congregation. Click here for details on safety guidelines and details about what to expect when public liturgies resume next week.
The new schedule for livestreamed Masses from the cathedral is as follows:
All Masses can be viewed live on the diocesan website or watched later on demand.
Parishes throughout the eight-county Diocese of Cleveland also will begin celebrating Mass publicly once again next week. Many plan to continue offering livestreamed or taped Masses, as well. Check with your parish for details.
Those who are not feeling well or are in high-risk categories – including the elderly or those with underlying health conditions -- are encouraged to stay home. The Catholic bishops of Ohio have extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass as a result of the ongoing health crisis, so anyone who is not comfortable attending a public Mass can continue to worship privately at home.
The Sunday TV Mass, which is taped at the cathedral, will continue to be broadcast at 6 a.m. on WJW Fox 8. It also is broadcast at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Cox Cable channel 45.
The Mass is broadcast on the radio at 9 a.m. Sundays on WINT 1330 AM and at 10:30 a.m. on WCCR 1260 AM The Rock
