The Catholic Conference of Ohio and its bishops, including Bishop Edward Malesic and Bishop Michael Woost, invite Catholics to join them in a pilgrimage to the Basilica and National Shrine of our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. The event is being held to mark the year of “going out on mission” as part of the National Eucharistic Revival.
Bishop Malesic and Bishop Woost will join Bishops Earl Fernandes (Columbus) and Daniel Thomas (Toledo) along with priests, deacons, consecrated religious and the lay faithful for the pilgrimage on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 9 p.m. The event begins with a candlelight rosary procession with the Miraculous Statue of Our Lady of Consolation from the Basilica to Shrine Park, followed by an outdoor Mass.
A full day of events will take place on Aug. 14 as follows:

Carey is within 200 miles of most Ohio towns with thousands of people expected to attend the Vigil Mass, so plan to arrive early to allow for traffic and parking. Pilgrims can visit the breathtaking Upper Basilica, venerate multiple relics in the Lower Basilica, and go to confession.
